Dr. Catherine Tchanqué-Fossuo is a double board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon.

She established Calyx Dermatology to deliver a premier full dermatology service. She is dedicated to providing outstanding dermatologic care, with a focus on general medical and surgical dermatology. She is highly regarded for her expertise in treating skin cancer through Mohs micrographic surgery. Additionally, Dr. Catherine Tchanqué-Fossuo has a particular interest in cosmetic procedures such as neuromodulators, fillers, and laser treatments.

Dr. Catherine Tchanqué-Fossuo completed her undergraduate education at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France, before earning a Master’s degree in Toxicology from American University. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University, where she began her training in general surgery. She then pursued a plastic surgery research fellowship at the University of Michigan, followed by advanced training in burn, critical care, and plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins.

Driven by her passion for dermatology, Dr. Tchanqué-Fossuo completed a clinical dermatology fellowship at the University of California, Davis, and subsequently finished her dermatology residency at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. There, she gained comprehensive expertise in medical, cosmetic, laser, and dermatologic surgeries. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals.

She also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in New Mexico.

Dr. Tchanqué-Fossuo is a fellow of the American Board of Dermatology, and she is an active member of several professional societies.

Dr. Tchanqué-Fossuo is dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality dermatologic care to each of her patients. Her clinical interests span general and procedural dermatology, with a strong commitment to community service and public education. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys a beautiful chaotic life with her husband and three children. She speaks French and Spanish.

About Jennifer Otero, FNP

Jennifer is a certified nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Jennifer brings a wide range of professional experience in pediatrics, women’s health, family medicine, and aesthetics with over 10 years of experience as a registered nurse and nurse injector. She joined Calyx Dermatology in January 2025 to begin her advanced dermatology training under the guidance of Dr. Catherine Tchanqué-Fossuo. Jennifer conducts comprehensive skin cancer screenings and treats both adults and children for a variety of dermatologic conditions, including acne, rosacea, hair and nail issues, skin infections, warts, psoriasis, and eczema. Jennifer is passionate about patient education and counseling as essential elements in managing skin conditions. She is a busy mom, who balances her work along with her husband and four lovely children.

About Karol Rodriguez, BSN, RN

Aesthetic Registered Nurse

Karol Rodriguez is a licensed Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and over eight years of clinical experience, including more than four years specializing in aesthetic medicine. Currently practicing at Calyx Dermatology, Karol offers expert, non-surgical cosmetic treatments with a focus on natural, balanced results.

Her background includes years of hospital-based care in cardiovascular critical care and pre/post-operative nursing, giving her a solid foundation in patient safety, emergency preparedness, and evidence-based clinical practice. In aesthetics, Karol has developed advanced expertise in injectables (neurotoxin, dermal fillers, and biostimulatory products), PRP, microneedling, and energy-based skin rejuvenation therapies.

Karol is passionate about creating personalized treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals while educating them throughout the process. Known for her calm, consultative approach and eye for detail, she fosters a welcoming, inclusive environment where patients feel seen, heard, and supported.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Karol is committed to providing accessible, compassionate care across diverse communities. She continues to grow within the field of dermatologic and aesthetic medicine, with a strong interest in advancing her role in multidisciplinary aesthetic and surgical teams.

About Consuelo Poblano

Consuelo’s professional path in dermatology and aesthetics began in 2015 when she started working as a medical assistant and laser hair technician. This initial experience ignited a deeper passion that inspired her to further her education, ultimately leading to her graduation from the Aveda Institute of New Mexico as a certified Licensed Aesthetician. Consuelo’s personal struggle with acne, both during her teenage years and occasionally as an adult, has been a powerful driving force behind her commitment to understanding skincare. This firsthand experience fuels her desire to learn about skincare ingredients and techniques, enabling her to provide informed guidance to her clients.
Consuelo’s core mission is to empower clients by sharing comprehensive skincare knowledge, helping them achieve and maintain healthy skin. She finds immense satisfaction in boosting clients’ confidence and helping them feel beautiful in their own skin. The aesthetics industry’s dynamic nature, with its constant technological advancements and innovative treatments, continually captivates her professional interest. Consuelo remains dedicated to staying current with emerging trends and techniques. Outside of her professional life, she loves spending quality time with her family, traveling, watching movies, shopping, and keeping up with the latest beauty, skincare, and makeup trends.

About Kimberly Gurule

Kimberly Gurule has been a practicing esthetician since 2010 and began working alongside a dermatologist in 2011. As a certified licensed esthetician based in Albuquerque, she brings more than 15 years of experience in the medical spa industry.

Throughout her career, Kimberly has developed advanced expertise across a wide range of aesthetic modalities. Her skill set includes skin-tightening treatments such as TempSure and Thermage, skin-resurfacing lasers like Clear & Brilliant and Fraxel, and cutting-edge technologies including Fotona 4D and microneedling. She is also highly experienced with IPL, laser hair reduction, CoolSculpting, and comprehensive skin-health services such as dermaplaning, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and DiamondGlow.

Kimberly believes aesthetic treatments are far more than procedures—they are a personalized, intimate journey that fosters confidence, trust, and long-term skin health. Her goal is to help every client achieve their unique skin goals while creating a warm, welcoming, and empowering environment.

Outside of her professional life, Kimberly is a devoted mother of five and proud grandmother of two. She enjoys spending time with her family, staying active at the gym, discovering local restaurants, and relaxing with her favorite matcha.

Sophia Silva is a licensed aesthetician and receptionist at Calyx Dermatology, where she blends her love of skincare with a genuine passion for helping others.

A proud graduate of the Aveda Institute, Sophia brings both clinical expertise and a calming presence to every patient interaction.

In her role, she enjoys helping patients feel their best through personalized aesthetic care, while also educating them on proper routines and product choices. Working in a dermatology practice allows her to combine her technical skills with a heart for service.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys spending time with family and friends and embracing life’s simple joys with a positive outlook and warm spirit.
